Our charity project Pets Patrol is aiming to help pets affected by the war, successfully fulfils its mission and expands assistance to the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine. This assistance includes evacuating pets and transferring them to animal shelters and new families. To sum it up, Pet Patrol’s team has rescued more than a hundred pets from the areas of intense fighting.
These results have been achieved through the joint efforts of Varvara Petrenko and Serge Shkott, founders and leaders of this charity project. 14 000 kg of pet food was delivered and given for free to Chernihiv residents. Partners from the non-governmental organisation Peace Winds Japan were present at both previous giveaways.
This time, Yuriy Sinitsa, founder of the COLLAR Company, invited Japanese partners to visit Chernihiv, and their visit became a significant event for the city. Yuriy conducted a tour for them, showed COLLAR’s manufacturing and other facilities, and later on, they joined a meet-and-greet event at the mayor’s office together. Remarkably, Peace Winds Japan announced their wish to help Chernihiv and its medical sphere during the meeting. Local hospitals were badly affected by shelling and airstrikes.
This meeting confirmed the importance of the “Pets Patrol” project, so it keeps in action.
On the 11 of June, a pet food giveaway was conducted in such regions as Bobrovitsya, Novoselivka and Stara Podusivka, which are one of the hardest-destroyed regions by russian invaders in Chernihiv. Targeted delivery was available for residents, who couldn’t get to the announced locations or took care of many of their own or abandoned pets.
According to our reports, during the existence of the charity project Pets Patrol, Varvara and Serge have evacuated more than a hundred pets from Kyiv, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions, and delivered them to the animal shelter “Dim Sirka”. Rescued pets are looking for adoption. Among the project milestones and achievements are 8000 veterinary medicine units, 46 bowls for pets, a hundred identification A-chips, more than a hundred pet accessories and after-surgery blankets. Everything was given to Dim Sirka, the animal shelter in Ivano-Frankivsk.
This week Pets Patrol’s team loaded 1000 kg of pet food into the car, and they are on the way to the Kharkiv region to carry out a pet food giveaway in the hardest-hit areas. The last time eight huskies were evacuated from this region, now they are looking for new families. Additionally, more cats and dogs were rescued from Pyatuhatku, ryska Lozova, and Cherkaska Lozova, the last two regions are occupied by russian forces at the moment. Pets urgently need adoption and care.

Varvara shares how her team feeds, rescues and evacuates pets that lost owners, became stray, abandoned or were evacuated from the areas with the intense fighting. Serge Shkot, supported by other volunteers, rescues and delivers pets to Dim Sirka every week. Pet parents and volunteers express their appreciation and post photos of their fed and rescued pets on the social page of the charity project.
Pets Patrol continues its work with wider efforts and expresses gratitude to partners from non-governmental organisation Peace Winds Japan and Ukrainian companies for their support and helping pets. In a war-torn country, they are vulnerable and need help and care more than ever. Though, COLLAR Company carries out its mission — making pets and people happy — and says thanks to all involved in this project and volunteers.
